This etching is part of the artist's current project, which will be presented in it's entirety in early 2012. The project is based on the artist's research of impoverished squatter settlements in under developed nations. In contrast to the many images of starvation, dilapidated shacks, and urban congestion that most Western audiences have come to expect from images generated by the news media & photojournalists, the artist has extracted objects of domestic life that have a cultural ambiguity that offers conceptual insight beyond difference & pity.
