Description:

According to Peter Doig, this etching came about whilst working with Fritze Margull in Doig's studio in Port of Spain. Etching #2, Haus der Bilder is from a small Daumier painting the artist saw at the Art Institute in Chicago. This color aquatint with etching work is sold unframed. Provenance: Phillips de Pury & Co. auction in 2008. It is signed and dated by the artist and was published by Griffelkunst, Hamburg. The edition size is unknown, but exclusive members' editions produced by this distinguished art organization are traditionally unnumbered, but unlikely to have totaled any more than 150.
